Corporate Social Responsibility

Samudera conducts a wide variety of Corporate Social Responsibility programs in the realization of the importance of engaging communities to improve their well-being. Sanudera's long standing contributions are overseen through the Samudera CSR Implementation Team, making suggestions and monitoring programs across the expansive branch network in the four areas of: education, health care, donations, and disaster relief.

Scholarships and internships help prepare students for the future. Among Samudera's health care commitment is the 3 times yearly conducting of wide-spread blood donor clinics in cooperation with the Indonesian Red Cross. Donations to the less fortunate include the provision of supplies and equipment for orphanages near company locations. As Indonesia suffers from numerous natural disasters, Samudera has dedicated resources to reduce the suffering of victims of such disasters as the Merapi eruption and the Aceh tsunami.

As part of its transformation, the Company is looking at enhancing its contribution approach, including through increasingly using its fleets to provide logistic support for quality programs as in the recent case of supporting the Books For Children program in shipping books from Melbourne to Jakarta.
